This position reports to the Head of Data Architecture and Modeling in the Consumer Healthcare business unit at Sanofi.

A cornerstone of CHC transformation in the coming years, the Senior Data Architect will create relationships across the enterprise to understand CHC’s business model, current data environment, needs, and how data drives success.

This position will collaborate with multiple business functions to implement the right data model and practices that meet their needs.

The candidate will work closely with business partners, stakeholders, and the data governance team to create a logical data model architecture for various data objects.

They will work on modern data architecture techniques and cloud data technologies.

The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

You will work with a diverse team of business analysts, data scientists, technical engineers, data architects, and project managers to deliver outcomes aligned with our business needs.

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for :

• Leading data architecture & modeling efforts within Snowflake and related cloud data products, including designing data structures and identifying business transformation logic.
• Analyzing and translating business requirements into conceptual and detailed logical data models.
• Creating logical data models based on existing applications and databases.
• Developing on-prem and / or cloud-native RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL / NoSQL).
• Working with business architects, data architects, and data stewards to capture business requirements in a Logical Data Model.
• Transforming the logical model into a physical representation and working with database administrators to instantiate and manage the data.
• Collaborating with BI and Analytics teams to create an optimized, reusable semantic model, including metadata and lineage information.
• Overseeing and governing the expansion of existing data architecture and optimizing data query performance via best practices.
• Defining and governing data modeling and design standards, tools, and related development for enterprise data models.
• Optimizing the model to ensure predictable performance.
• Maintaining metadata describing the data model, its structure, and semantics.

About You

• 10+ years experience in Data Architecture and Modeling; 5+ years in Snowflake.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and related cloud data products.
• Good knowledge of dbt ETL / ELT technologies.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience working in FMCG.
• Experience in data strategies and developing logical and physical data models on RDBMS, NoSQL, and cloud-native databases.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and phased project delivery.
• Experience interfacing heterogeneous systems and data sources.
• Knowledge of procuring data from SAP.

Education

• TOGAF certification or similar data architecture education preferred.
• Experience with international program management.
• Ability to work with multicultural and multi-sourced teams.
• Experience with multi-country deployment involving local stakeholders.
• Cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.
• Experience contracting and managing software vendors and system integrators.
• Strategic development in a multi-dimensional, rapidly changing environment.
