Functions and Tasks:

A Lead Statistician builds and leads teams of statisticians and representatives from other functions, ensuring the use of appropriate and efficient statistical analysis methods during development, submission, and/or lifecycle management of Bayer products, according to applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. They also represent projects to line management and governance boards.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Takes the statistical lead for a project in the represented Statistics Sub-Cluster, e.g., as a Project Statistician.
  2. Leads virtual teams of statisticians and/or representatives from other functions.
  3. Contributes to the development and evolution of project standards.
  4. Provides statistical and methodological consultation within multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Responds to inquiries from health authorities and partners.
  6. Keeps abreast of regulatory and methodological issues, ensuring their implementation.
  7. Influences decision-making during drug development and lifecycle management using appropriate statistical methodologies.
  8. Develops and implements innovative statistical methodologies, collaborating with academic experts when appropriate.

Requisites:

PhD or MS in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Mathematics, with at least four years of experience in pharma, biotech, or similar sectors. Knowledge of clinical drug development and regulations. Experience in leading teams. Knowledge of statistical programming languages (SAS and/or R). Fluency in English. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
