Could you be the full-time EHS Technician in Madrid we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your EHS expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside young and proactive teammates.

You will manage, perform, and ensure activities related to Health and Safety are applied in projects. Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with teams across engineering and project management, coordinate the Health and Safety area for Maintenance Services projects, and more.

You’ll specifically provide technical expertise, guidance, and support throughout the project lifecycle and provide technical EHS leadership in Maintenance Services Projects.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting the Site EHS manager on EHS topics. Perform EHS Risk Assessments, plan preventive activities, and define measures to control risks for assigned projects/depots. Prepare, implement, and maintain emergency plans. Coordinate activities respecting EHS standards, especially where interfaces with other contractors or operation areas are involved.
  • Developing the Site EHS Management System. Develop, deploy, and maintain local procedures and tools aligned with Alstom Standards and international standards (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001). Maintain EHS files and records.
  • Ensuring EHS Compliance. Verify site activities comply with the EHS Plan, guidelines, and work instructions. Conduct legal compliance checks for specific requirements.
  • Fostering an EHS culture at the site. Inform, instruct, and train employees to carry out work safely and environmentally responsibly according to the method statements. Conduct EHS visits to Projects and Services depots.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. You don’t need to have all skills listed, but the following will help you succeed and grow:

Educational Requirements:

  • University Engineer or Business Degree
  • Health & Safety Qualification recognized by Spanish authorities: MS in Prevention of Occupational Risks (Safety Specialist, Industrial Hygienist, Ergonomics Specialist)
  • Degree-level Environmental Qualification (desirable)

Experience

  • Up to 5 years of professional experience
  • At least 1 year in Environment, Health & Safety
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing sites preferred; railway environment experience is a plus
  • Good knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001); Internal Auditor certification is a plus
  • Deep understanding of local legal requirements
  • Experience as railway or EHS auditor is advantageous

Language:

Fluent in Spanish and English
