Job Description

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Waiter / Waitress to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage supervisor, you’ll prepare drinks exactly as our guests want or serve them delicious food, creating relaxing, memorable experiences. Support the team with Food & Beverage operations. You are the face of our guests’ experience and bring your own flavor to the table, ensuring they have a great time from arrival to departure.

1. Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests can unwind and enjoy themselves.
2. Work with the team to keep operations running smoothly and tidily.
3. Describe the selection of drinks and menu items to guests with interesting, vivid descriptions of origin, taste, and preparation.
4. Set up your outlet—stock supplies and manage inventory.
5. Ensure food and beverages are well stocked.
6. Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of your work area.
7. Assist with other duties as needed, including serving in other outlets like room service, bar, or terrace.
8. Collaborate with restaurant and kitchen staff to provide seamless service.
9. Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
10. Anticipate guest needs with attentive and intuitive service.
11. Assess customer preferences and make recommendations.
12. Address guest dissatisfaction promptly to ensure satisfaction.
13. Accurately close guest checks, process payments, and handle voided or complimentary items.
14. Adhere to safety and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

What we are looking for :

1. At least 2 years of hospitality experience in food & beverage.
2. Some college or advanced training in food and beverage management is valuable.
3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Fluent in Spanish and English.
6. Ability to make people feel good—team members, guests, and colleagues.
7. Positive attitude and relationship-building skills.
8. Ownership mindset, problem-solving ability, and effective decision-making.
9. Quick learner and adaptable to SLS’s culture.
