Here at Americold Europe we are recruiting for a Key Accounts Director.

The Key Accounts Director - Europe is responsible for driving significant revenue growth by fostering and expanding relationships with strategic key accounts across Europe. This role ensures the long-term success and profitability of these accounts, enhances customer satisfaction, optimizes service delivery, and reinforces Americold's industry leadership.

The director oversees key account relationships to maximize satisfaction and achieve revenue growth, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure smooth communication and lasting partnerships with decision-makers. The role identifies cross-selling opportunities across Europe and Americold's global network, driving business growth.

Key responsibilities include managing service delivery, financials, cost control, and quality assurance to ensure efficient operations. By understanding and anticipating account requirements, the director develops effective Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to align expectations and deliverables. Staying informed on logistics and transport trends, particularly in the food sector, adds value to client relationships.

The role involves leading pricing negotiations and rate reviews, balancing customer needs with Americold’s goals, and challenging practices that could impact profitability or satisfaction. The director manages contract renewals and maximizes new business opportunities with key accounts.

Analysing business performance data helps identify and resolve issues to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction. A strong grasp of commercial agreements and charges, along with collaboration with finance teams, ensures accurate billing. Proactively addressing liabilities protects the company from claims and operational risks.

Continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to internal processes ensure alignment with key account expectations while driving overall success.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Warehouse, Distribution, Transport, Food, and Supply Chain sectors.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of the cold storage industry and its unique operational demands.
  • Proven experience managing complex B2B relationships and delivering value through long-term partnerships.
  • Previous experience in account management or sales, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate financial and market performance data, using it to develop and adjust account strategies.
