What are we looking for? We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Android Mobile Engineer to join our team as a freelancer. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android development using Kotlin and a passion for creating high-quality mobile applications. Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Apply SOLID principles and clean code practices to new features, and refactor legacy code to current standards.
2. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Kotlin.
3. Participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and best practices.
4. Write unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing Android applications.
6. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
7. Develop and maintain libraries and SDKs.
8. Optimize application performance for a seamless user experience.
9. Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and technologies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Over 8 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architecture components (Jetpack, ViewModel, LiveData, Room).
• Proficiency in writing clean, well-documented code.
• Familiarity with SOLID principles and frameworks like Navigation Component, Dependency Injection, Flow, Contracts.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI frameworks.
• Unit testing experience with Mock or JUnit.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Additional preferences:

• Interest in psychology and mental health.
• Fluency in English and native Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree or vocational training.
• Familiarity with modular architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Bitrise).
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal tech projects.

What do we offer?

• Freelance contract for 6 months, with potential extension to 9 months.
• Full-time commitment: 40 hours/week.
• Fully remote work.
• Competitive salary: €4,500–€5,000/month (~28€/hour).
