About the role

We are looking for a skilled and ambitious team player who wants to take part in the continuous growth journey BASE. Our new accountant will play a pivotal role with one part of the month focused on running payroll in one or two of our countries, alongside the remaining payroll team and the other part of the month assisting with regular accounting tasks.

You will join the Finance department split across Copenhagen and Barcelona consisting of 10 colleagues. Together with the other teams in Enabling Areas, we support BASE in all matters relating to finance, IT, people & culture and general business support internationally.

Working in finance at BASE will, among other things, introduce you to the art of data, where you will be a part of laying the groundwork for the tools and structure BASE will use to build future expansion on; in other words, you will learn how to use data to build a business.

As an Accountant your responsibilities include :

• Assisting with data preparation for payroll.
• Assisting with finalizing, booking and reconciling payroll globally.
• Customer and project controlling.
• Assisting with monthly invoicing of customers.
• Customer and project data management.
• Assist in the monthly closing process.
• Preparing reports and dialogue with the business.
• Reconciliation of accounts.
• Assist with international reporting.

What makes you the best person for this job?

• 3-5 years' experience from another accounting position.
• Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
• Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English as it is our corporate language.

It will be a plus if you have these additional capabilities :

• Experience with or a strong interest for handling and transforming data.
• Strong proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of running payroll is a plus but not a requirement.
