What are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Android Mobile Engineer to join our team as a freelancer. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android development using Kotlin and a passion for creating high-quality mobile applications. Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Apply SOLID principles and clean code practices to new features, and refactor legacy code to meet current standards.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Kotlin.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
- Write unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing Android applications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing expertise and fostering continuous learning.
- Develop and maintain libraries and SDKs, both new and existing.
- Optimize application performance for a seamless user experience.
- Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Over 8 years of professional experience in Android mobile development.
- Strong expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architecture components (e.g., Jetpack, ViewModel, LiveData, Room).
- Proficiency in writing clean, well-documented code.
- Familiarity with SOLID principles and frameworks such as Navigation Component, Dependency Injection, Flow, Contracts.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI frameworks.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks like Mock or JUnit.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Additional preferred qualities:
- Interest in psychology and mental health.
- Fluency in English and native Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree or vocational training.
- Knowledge of modular architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab CI/CD, Bitrise).
- Contributions to open-source or personal tech projects.

- Freelance contract (6 months, with possible extension to 9).
