Job Purpose

The Commercial Excellence Manager drives the implementation of best practices, systems, and KPIs to enhance commercial outcomes. They support sales teams with data and insights to enable growth, champion commercial excellence, and participate in strategic forums.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market Research: Identify commercial opportunities.
  2. Implement Commercial Excellence Processes: Roll out tools, dashboards, and KPIs with appropriate resources and timing.
  3. Drive Field Force Effectiveness: Optimize sales force activities, including project sales, funnel management, pricing, and key account management.
  4. Collaborate with Regional Managers: Align strategies and objectives with divisional goals.
  5. Support Governance Forums: Ensure progress and reporting meet outcomes, address issues, and escalate when necessary.
  6. Report on Progress: Develop reports for sales leadership, highlighting performance, barriers, and improvement suggestions.
  7. Support Transformation: Assist sales teams in adopting Customer and Commercial Excellence methodologies, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business or related markets.
  • Understanding of business drivers and customer landscapes; sector experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in a Commercial Excellence environment with strategies for market share growth and profitability.
  • Strong influencing, coaching, and leadership skills, with experience in transformational projects.
  • Recognized leadership and networking within the business.
  • CRM experience, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proficiency in analytics and data visualization tools like Excel and PowerBI.
Additional Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and influence without authority.
  • Strong problem-solving, professionalism, integrity, and results orientation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Data analysis and insight development capabilities, with experience in advanced analytics and AI being a plus.
