The Jotelulu Product team is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join our engineering team.

You will support our growing engineering team and help scale our codebase from thousands to millions of users.

Join a full-stack development team creating self-service, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) at cloud provider scale.

This role is fully remote based in Spain. While we have offices in Madrid (Plaza España), our software engineering team is distributed across multiple cities, making us a remote-friendly company.

Main Mission of the Role

Lead the frontend technical function to develop and maintain scalable, accessible, high-performance user interfaces for our SaaS offerings, aligning technical efforts with Jotelulu’s business objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Code Development & Quality

• Develop solutions that meet the company’s standards for scalability, reliability, usability, performance, and quality.
• Design a flexible, scalable architecture to support product growth.
• Implement and promote design patterns and best practices.
• Apply coding standards, conduct code reviews, and utilize agile methodologies effectively.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to design aligned solutions.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Work closely with squads and departments to address complex challenges and ensure technological consistency.
• Guide and mentor the frontend development team, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
• Manage technical challenges related to the frontend.

Key Tasks

• Mentor the frontend development team continuously.
• Design and implement the new frontend architecture using Next.js, Node.js, and React.
• Migrate existing frontend components to the new architecture, building new components and micro frontends.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define clear, aligned projects and tasks.
• Implement automated unit and integration testing to ensure quality.
• Support CI / CD adoption for frontend development.
• Apply Web Performance Optimization (WPO) strategies.
• Maintain documentation for components and libraries, ensuring consistency across squads.
• Resolve complex interface issues and propose innovative solutions.
• Participate in technical planning and roadmap development.
• Promote accessibility, security, and frontend best practices.

Security Requirements

Embed security principles throughout the product lifecycle, aligned with ISO 27001, ENS, and HDS standards. Collaborate with the Security team for risk assessments and secure design.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in micro frontend development with Next.js, Node.js, and React.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright for testing.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of bundlers like Turbopack and WebPack.
• Frontend performance optimization (WPO).
• Version control with GitLab and collaborative workflows.
• Basic understanding of Docker and containerized development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum.
• Leadership and mentorship skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
