We are seeking a Data Governance & Strategy Expert to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data governance strategies that align with our organization's goals and ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all business units.

Develop and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures

Lead the design and execution of data quality management programs to improve data accuracy, consistency, and reliability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-related issues and implement effective solutions

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving data protection laws

Create and maintain data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation

Conduct regular data quality assessments and develop strategies for continuous improvement

Provide guidance and training to staff on data governance best practices and policies

Partner with IT and business teams to integrate data governance principles into new and existing systems and processes

Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives

Present data governance strategies and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred

5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field

Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices

Expertise in data quality management tools and techniques

In-depth understanding of data privacy and security regulations, including GDPR and CCPA

Proficiency in business intelligence and analytics platforms

Experience in data modeling and architecture

Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful data governance implementations

Experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies across large organizations

Proven ability to lead data quality improvement initiatives

Knowledge of data lifecycle management and data ethics

Relevant certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), DGCP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional), or CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) are highly desirable

Fluency in English is required; Spanish and Portuguese are a plus
