Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Complete product training to become an M&D Lead Field Service Engineer, responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing substation monitoring equipment.
- Work primarily outdoors in substations and power generation stations, including offshore wind platforms.
- Travel mainly from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure on-site repairs and modifications comply with GE Vernova standards.
- Serve as a primary technical resource on-site, leading in resolving engineering and product issues.
- Ensure the efficiency and quality of installations and repairs.
- Make autonomous decisions within a defined framework, consulting senior team members for issues outside established parameters.
- Communicate effectively with the Services Leader, Product Management, Service Team, Customers, Channels, OEMs, and Sales Team to deliver superior customer support.
- Comply with applicable regulations and promote safety practices.
- Provide technical guidance to skilled staff and channels to ensure work quality and adherence to technical requirements.
- Communicate scheduling, manpower, quality, and equipment needs clearly.
- Understand key business drivers and how team efforts contribute to broader objectives.
- Travel frequently within the EU (minimum 70%), mainly in Southern Europe, with potential travel to other European countries. When not traveling, work from home.
- Must hold a valid EU work permit.
- Understand best practices and market differentiation factors.
- Apply judgment and propose solutions for complex manufacturing processes, using technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Mentor less experienced colleagues and potentially lead small projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Controls & Instrumentation.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong influencing skills.
- Flexible and willing to travel.
- Capable of working independently.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team-oriented.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in fieldwork within a substation environment.
- Experience with Kelman DGA equipment, including installation, repair, and service, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to document and plan programs.
- Offshore training or experience (GWO certificates preferred).
- Experience with installation and maintenance of Power Transformer monitoring equipment.
- Fluency in at least one other European language.
