The professional in this position will serve as the Site HSE Manager for the projects 'Ceuta-Peninsula' and 'Tenerife-Lagomera' currently underway in Spain. They will ensure compliance with HSE regulations in accordance with the law and the Client's HSE policies, overseeing activities from an HSE perspective on-site.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site HSE Manager, reporting directly to the Site Manager and functionally to the Project HSE Manager, will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all HSE activities at the project level comply with Spanish applicable laws, regulations, client requirements, and company standards, including those of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinating HSE efforts and ensuring compliance with company policies, working with the site team to implement HSE culture and methodologies.
- Assisting project teams in HSE-related issues with subcontractors.
- Ensuring vessel operations comply with ISM Code, SOLAS, and MARPOL regulations.
- Supporting risk management processes such as HAZID and Permit To Work systems.
- Facilitating accident and incident investigations, analyzing statistics, identifying trends, and proposing improvements at project and company levels.
- Conducting HSE audits, inspections, and walkthroughs related to ISO 45001, 14001 standards, and Spanish legal compliance.
- Developing and delivering HSE training programs and promoting a safety culture among staff, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Overseeing the development, implementation, review, and auditing of the Company HSE Management System, in line with headquarters guidelines.
- Managing and analyzing HSE indicators.
- Ensuring proper waste management, including segregation, collection, and reporting.
- Coordinating onsite Recursos Preventivos.
- Reviewing subcontractors’ HSE documentation in Spanish and English.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Education: Senior Technician in PRL with at least a 60-hour Occupational Risk Prevention training.
- Minimum of 5 years' HSE management experience in EPCI environments, including onshore and offshore construction, installation activities, and vessel operations.
- Training as a 'Recurso Preventivo.'
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.
- Proven knowledge of Spanish HSE regulations for civil/excavation works.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
PREFERRABLE SKILLS
- GWO Basic Safety Trainings (5 modules) or equivalent.
- Experience working with subcontractors.
- Knowledge of the International Maritime Organization ISM Code, SOLAS, and MARPOL regulations.
LOCATION
- January to September 2025: Based in Algeciras, with recurrent trips to Ceuta.
- September to December 2025: Algeciras, Tenerife, and Lagomera.
DURATION: Approximately mid-January 2025 to December 2025.
