Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced HR Domain Architect to define, govern, and evolve the enterprise HR architecture. You will ensure a coherent, secure, and scalable HR technology landscape, aligning Workday with the broader enterprise strategy and governance.

This role reports into the Global Head IS Enterprise Architecture and operates in a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will drive HR capability mapping, integration patterns, and data architecture while delivering the HR domain roadmap and

Qualifications

• 7+ years in architecture or senior HR technology roles.
• Strong experience in HR systems and platforms (e.g. Workday).
• Experience with HR integrations (identity, payroll, finance).
• Understanding of Privacy and regulatory considerations for HR data.
• Experience in and understanding HR processes and operating models.
• Proven experience in large, decentralized or federated enterprises.
• Experience in functional capability modeling, SaaS and packaged application landscapes and cross-domain dependency management.
• Strong executive communication and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Define, govern, and evolve the HR domain architecture across the enterprise.
• Ensure the HR technology landscape is coherent, secure, and scalable.
• Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation in EA tools (e.g. Ardoq).
• Serve as end-to-end architect for the Workday landscape and ensure coherence with strategy.
• Review Workday footprint to identify overlap, gaps, and consolidation opportunities.
• Stay updated on Workday releases and new features to advise onLandscape integration.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to define, govern, and evolve the architecture of the Human Resources (HR) domain across the enterprise. You will ensure the HR technology landscape is coherent, secure, and scalable, enabling consistent employee experience while supporting decentralized business needs. This role operates within the Enterprise Architecture function, translating enterprise guardrails into practical domain-level guidance for HR platforms and solutions. This role reports to the Senior Domain Architect for Functional Domains.

• HR Domain Architecture & Target State, including HR capability mapping
• HR Architecture Principles and Guardrails
• HR Integration & Data Architecture and Data Distribution Patterns
• Solution Architecture Reviews and Assessments
• HR Domain Roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy and HR Technology Roadmap
• Up to date architecture documentation in EA tools (e.g. Ardoq)
• Serving as the end-to-end architect for the Workday landscape, ensuring the total solution is coherent, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with strategy
• Continuously reviewing the collective Workday footprint to identify overlap, gaps, and opportunities for consolidation or better utilization of native Workday capabilities before custom solutions are introduced
• Understanding the modules and capabilities of the Workday solution and staying up to date with releases and new features to advise how they could complement our landscape
