Lever, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer/C Developer – PGD based in Spain for a fully remote EMEA opportunity. You will develop and evolve a high-availability distributed PostgreSQL solution, spanning architecture, software development, testing, documentation, and production support.

The role focuses on multi-master distributed PostgreSQL, replication, fault tolerance, and distributed systems, collaborating with an international engineering team on a long-lived codebase.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C programming and production-quality systems software.
• Experience with PostgreSQL internals (storage engine, WAL, replication, catalog, extension development).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts (replication topologies, consensus, eventual consistency, failure modes).
• Experience with large codebases across multi-branch/backport workflows.
• Familiarity with modern build systems and CI/CD practices.
• Strong Git skills and complex branching strategies.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and document capabilities for a multi-master distributed PostgreSQL product.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions for distributed database functionality.
• Improve performance, reliability, usability, and scalability of existing capabilities.
• Translate requirements into executable engineering tasks.
• Provide high-quality production support to enterprise customers.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering standards.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineers and stakeholders.
• Work with multi-version and multi-branch codebases and backporting workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD, testing and software delivery processes.
• Maintain high standards for documentation and production readiness.
