iPronics is seeking a Director of Photonics Test Engineering & Manufacturing Validation to lead the strategy, development, and execution of test solutions for our programmable photonic integrated circuits (PICs), modules, and systems.

You will drive testing activities from characterization through production release, ensuring high product quality, manufacturing yield, reliability, and scalable production readiness.

Formación

• MSc or PhD in Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years in semiconductor/silicon photonics/optical systems/test engineering.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams or complex programs.
• Expertise in photonic device characterization, validation, reliability, and production testing.
• Experience developing automated test systems and manufacturing test infrastructure.
• Proficient in Python and data analysis tools.
• Proven track record from development to volume manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Define and execute end-to-end test strategy across characterization, validation, qualification, and production.
• Lead EVT/DVT/SVT/PVT across Engineering, Design, System, and Production Verification Testing.
• Establish robust test methodologies, coverage metrics, and qualification procedures.
• Support NPI and manufacturing ramp activities.
• Develop scalable test solutions for wafer-, module-, and system-level production testing.
• Drive yield improvement, root-cause analysis, and failure investigations.
• Lead the development of automated test platforms, software tools, and data analysis frameworks.
• Oversee test hardware and ensure measurement accuracy, traceability, and scalability.

iPronics is seeking a Director of Photonics Test Engineering & Manufacturing Validation to lead the strategy, development, and execution of test solutions for our programmable photonic integrated circuits (PICs), modules, and systems.

This role will drive testing activities from engineering characterization through production release, ensuring high product quality, manufacturing yield, reliability, and scalable production readiness. You will work closely with Design, Product, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to bring innovative photonic products from development into volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the end-to-end test strategy across characterization, validation, qualification, and production.
• Lead Engineering, Design, System, and Production Verification Testing (EVT/DVT/SVT/PVT).
• Establish robust test methodologies, coverage metrics, and qualification procedures.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing ramp activities.

Manufacturing Test & Yield Improvement

• Develop scalable test solutions for wafer-level, module-level, and system-level production testing.
• Drive yield improvement, root-cause analysis, and failure investigations.
• Optimize test coverage, test time, production throughput, and cost of test.
• Implement data-driven approaches for yield learning, process control, and continuous improvement.

Test Automation & Infrastructure

• Lead the development of automated test platforms, software tools, and data analysis frameworks.
• Oversee test hardware including probe stations, fixtures, interface boards, and reliability setups.
• Ensure measurement accuracy, traceability, and scalability across manufacturing operations.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with PIC Design, Hardware, Software, Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and external manufacturing partners.
• Drive Design-for-Test (DFT), Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM), and Design-for-Reliability (DFR) practices.
• Lead technical reviews and provide visibility into product quality, reliability, and manufacturing performance.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing test engineering team.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Manage project priorities, resources, and execution across multiple product programs.

Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, silicon photonics, optical systems, or test engineering.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams or complex technical programs.
• Strong expertise in photonic device characterization, validation, reliability, and production testing.
• Experience developing automated test systems and manufacturing test infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated track record of supporting products from development through volume manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with silicon photonics and wafer-level testing.
• Knowledge of optical communications, networking systems, and advanced photonic components.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), yield analysis, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and external production partners.
