As a Director of Life of Mine (LOM) Planning & Transformation, you will lead and execute high-impact transformation projects that extend the operational lifespan of mining assets. In this strategic role, you will oversee multiyear initiatives to optimize resource allocation and mitigate operational risks, thereby maximizing asset value and business performance.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to drive sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership &
  • Own the end-to-end management of LOM projects, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Develop and implement multiyear strategic plans focused on operational efficiency and asset longevity.
  • Lead the prioritization and governance of transformation projects with measurable business impact.
  • Define and implement best practices for project management methodologies, governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Financial & Risk Management
    • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting to ensure project success.
    • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks, integrating data-driven insights into decision-making.
    • Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies and process optimization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on asset optimization and long-term mine planning.
    • Engage with key stakeholders, including operations, finance, engineering, and regulatory bodies, to ensure project success.
    • Build strong relationships with vendors, partners, and government agencies to secure key project approvals and partnerships.
    • Lead digital and operational transformation initiatives to enhance mine productivity and sustainability.
    • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.
    • Mentor and coach cross-functional teams, strengthening project management capabilities.

    Qualifications & Experience

    1. Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Mining, or a related field.
    • MBA or advanced leadership certification (preferred).
  • Experience & Skills:
    • 10 years in Project Management, LOM Strategy, or Asset Optimization within the mining, heavy industry, or energy sector.
    • Proven track record of managing multimillion-dollar transformation projects in complex operational environments.
    • Strong knowledge of Life of Mine (LOM) planning, asset lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
    • Experience with financial modeling, cost optimization, and operational risk management.
    • Proficiency in Project Management tools (MS Project, Primavera, SAP, Power BI, or equivalent).
