One of our partner companies is currently looking for a Director of IT & Security to join their team in Europe.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of IT & Security to lead the strategic direction of technology and cybersecurity operations. This role requires deep understanding of technical infrastructure and security practices, especially in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You will lead a dedicated IT & Security team, influence executive decisions, and foster a culture of security, compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines hands-on expertise in ethical hacking with a strategic mindset to embed security across the business. Passion for innovation and resilience, along with the ability to balance agility with protection, are key.

Accountabilities

1. Define and execute the company's IT and cybersecurity strategy.
2. Advise senior leadership on technology risks and mitigation plans.
3. Champion ethical hacking, including red teaming and bug bounty programs.
4. Oversee threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
5. Build and maintain a control framework aligned with global compliance standards.
6. Lead risk assessments to balance protection with agility.
7. Drive improvements in infrastructure and cloud security via automation.
8. Manage budgets, vendors, and tools with a value-driven approach.
9. Lead and mentor a high-performing IT & Security team.

Minimum Requirements

1. 10+ years of experience in IT and cybersecurity leadership roles.
2. Hands-on expertise in ethical hacking and red team operations.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure considered).
4. Familiarity with DevSecOps, infrastructure security, and compliance frameworks.
5. Ability to lead security initiatives in scale-up or tech-centric environments.
6. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
7. Proven ability to innovate without compromising stability.
8. Experience managing budgets, vendors, and roadmaps.
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business landscape.
