The Director of Global Medical Affairs, EMEA/LATAM/NA will be a key role in the Diagnostic division, directing scientific strategies and activities both internal and external to the customer.

What your responsibilities will be

  • Serve as a scientific expert in transfusion medicine, blood banking, and blood policy for Grifols Diagnostic (GDx).
  • Oversee the scientific affairs team and their deliverables.
  • Direct GDx scientific leadership through research, congress symposia, publications, educational activities, and strong collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Provide scientific, technical, and medical expertise and guidance to GDx and other functions including Regional Commercial Operations, Clinical Affairs, Global Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of scientific marketing and sales tools.
  • Monitor industry innovation to assess competitive activity and identify future business development opportunities.
  • Manage relationships and provide liaison with key opinion leaders and investigators of investigator-initiated trials.
  • Contribute to the management and/or review of Grifols-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies.
  • Work with Clinical Affairs as needed to ensure proper and relevant analysis of trial data.
  • Liaise with Global Marketing and Regional commercial teams.
  • Review materials to ensure scientific soundness and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

  • Expertise in transfusion science/medicine and business acumen in the blood bank industry.
  • Research and publication background.
  • 10 years of experience in transfusion science/medicine.
  • 5 years or more of industry experience, including in an in vitro diagnostic market is desirable.
  • Education: MD or PhD required.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate scientific and clinical information. Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet databases.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, especially with associates and external customers.
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining scientific collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally.
