Director of Finance reporting directly to CFO in South Orange County - fast growing middle market consumer products company - ~$170-200k+ + strong bonus

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is a new position due to growth. This role will initially serve as an individual contributor but will lead a team of one to three analysts as the company expands its infrastructure.

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will oversee the development and execution of the company's financial analysis functions. This includes creating and maintaining financial models driven by KPIs to support forecasting, financial reporting, product initiative analysis, pricing, quotations, and M&A analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of annual and long-term financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Develop and manage KPIs to monitor the company's financial health and progress.
  • Conduct M&A analysis and provide strategic recommendations to the executive team.
  • Oversee capital expenses ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic financial plans to support growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects, offering financial insights and recommendations.
  • Implement and maintain financial planning and analysis systems and tools.
Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA, MBA, or CMA preferred.
  • 10-15 years in finance/accounting; 5+ years in management or self-directed roles.
  • Experience in consumer goods industry; manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to leverage business analysis software.
  • Experience with M&A analysis and capital expense management.
  • Experience working with companies generating $100-500 million in revenue.
  • High energy, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to build systems and processes from scratch.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and high initiative.
