A leading consulting firm is seeking a Director for their Business Transformation team in Madrid. This role focuses on comprehensive financial analysis, operational improvements, and client engagement within the Energy sector. The successful candidate will leverage extensive consulting experience and strong analytical skills while managing projects and fostering relationships with stakeholders.

Formación

  • 6+ years consulting experience, preferably from Big4.
  • Industry experience in Energy sector is required.
  • Proven record in transactions and performance improvements.

Director, Business Transformation (Madrid) | Energy Practice | Corporate Finance & Restructuring

In Business Transformation at FTI Consulting, we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies, and other stakeholders. Our services include pre-deal commercial and operations due diligence, post-merger integration, business plan development, restructuring, and performance improvement, including interim management. Our demanding customer base relies on small and senior teams.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will participate in project teams, working with clients on the execution of various engagements and also assist with ongoing business development activity.

Key Activities Include :

  • Company financial analysis (knowledge of and experience in P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow assessments preferred)
  • Market analysis
  • Operational analysis (e.g., OEE assessment, FTE benchmark)
  • Identification of upside / downside potentials
  • Private equity due diligence reports
  • Development and implementation support of improvement concepts
  • Presentation writing
  • Participation in client / internal meetings (regular and extensive travel required)
  • Project or sub-team leadership

Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree (or equivalent), preferably in a numerical discipline or with a numerical component
  • Demonstrable consulting experience (6+ years, Big4 or premium brands)
  • Industry experience in Energy
  • Proven results across transactions, operations, business planning, performance improvement, turnaround diagnosis, strategy, and senior management / PE relationships (especially at SD level)

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in producing client-ready PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work in diverse teams
  • Analytical and modeling skills, with a hypothesis-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple demanding stakeholders and tasks
  • High EQ and IQ, flexible, adaptable across sectors and project types
  • Highly numerate, quick learner, enthusiastic about training
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
