We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced DevOps Team Lead Director to join our Global Clinical Operations (GCO) team. In this role, you will lead the Novartis Clinical Vault (Veeva) GCO IT group and own all Veeva platform activities for the GCO IT team. You will work directly with Technical Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project / Release Managers, and a wide range of internal and external partners to ensure optimal outcomes for the Global Clinical Operations business community.

Your responsibilities include delivering NCV releases, optimizing the platform, supporting audit-related activities, managing vendor relations, overseeing operational budgets, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. As part of the GCO IT Leadership Team, you will also be involved in strategic planning and cross-team initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this team leadership role.

You will engage with global business leaders and coordinate with DDIT teams and functions to ensure smooth operational enhancements with the right quality and timelines.

This role involves creating, evolving, and driving the organization's strategy, aligning technological objectives with business goals, and managing solutions, risks, and relationships.

As the Global Product Line Lead for NCV, you will maximize the value and utilization of the product line, owning all technical aspects throughout the product lifecycle in partnership with the Business Product Manager.

You will develop the technical product roadmap, from ideation through development, adoption, and realization of value, prioritizing features to deliver maximum business value incrementally.

You will represent the business and customer strategies within DDIT, advising on platform and product investments and roadmaps.

The Director of GCO NCV is responsible for capturing global and local demand, collaborating with DDIT functions to ensure high-quality service delivery to stakeholders as per service agreements.

Major Accountabilities

  • Proactively shape the change portfolio and technology roadmap (3-5 years), fostering innovation and forward-thinking within the business regarding tech-driven capabilities and processes.
  • Oversee program, project, and product delivery, partnering with the business to drive transformation programs enabled by technology.
  • Measure and drive the business value of transformation initiatives, developing cross-silo knowledge and ensuring accountability.
  • Enhance engagement with DDIT for the business, manage budgets, and help stakeholders understand technology costs.
  • Partner with countries or sites, balancing global and local investments and needs, and ensuring business continuity.
  • Support the journey toward technology transformation aligned with business objectives, shaping strategy and future directions.
  • Serve as a point of escalation and approval for key issues, responsible for operational objectives and medium-term planning.
  • Articulate business strategy and customer experience, co-create product vision and roadmap with the Business Product Owner.
  • Identify and prioritize features for delivery, ensuring understanding within the development team.

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor's degree in computer or IT-related field or technical discipline; MBA optional.
  • Over 15 years of experience in an IT environment.
  • Extensive project and change management experience.

Experience / Professional Requirements

  • Prior Veeva knowledge, preferably in Clinical Vault.
  • Understanding of the DevOps model.
  • Ability to scale teams as needed.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and collaborating across boundaries.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industries.
  • Strong relationship management skills, leveraging digital technology and big data, with multinational experience and senior management interaction.
  • Proven track record of delivering global solutions at scale.

Languages

  • Business fluent in English (written and spoken).
