We’re looking for a DevOps Lead to join our partner’s global tech team.
This role involves leading and building the Delivery Engineering team to boost automation, streamline processes, and ensure stability and scalability of services. You’ll take on a mix of technical oversight, team leadership, mentoring, and driving operational excellence, balancing leadership and hands-on tasks equally.
What You’ll Do
- CI / CD Implementation : Automate build, test, and deployment processes to reduce manual errors. Ensure frequent code integration, continuous testing, and rapid, reliable deployment. Monitor systems and provide continuous feedback to improve processes.
- Handling Failed Deployments : Implement observability practices (logging, alerting) for quick detection and resolution. Use automated rollback strategies to revert to stable versions. Apply Blue / Green or Canary deployment methods for safer rollouts.
- Kubernetes (K8s) Management : Understand Kubernetes architecture (etcd, kube-apiserver, kube-controller-manager, kube-scheduler). Manage configurations across environments (Helm, Kustomize, ConfigMaps / Secrets).
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) : Handle sensitive data securely (HashiCorp Vault, environment variables, encryption). Detect and address infrastructure drift using tools like Terraform. Ensure idempotency for consistent, reliable automation.
- Managerial Duties : Foster a continuous improvement mindset and culture. Effectively manage prioritization based on input from incident management, engineering managers, and product owners. Engage with principal engineers to drive innovation and maintain deliverable roadmaps.
What we are looking for
- Proficiency in CI / CD pipeline design and deployment
- Expertise in Kubernetes (architecture, configurations, environment management)
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code principles, tools, and practices (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
- Experience with secure handling of sensitive data (secrets, API keys)
- Observability tools for monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks based on business needs and engineering goals
- Proven track record of successful workload migration to Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience implementing and monitoring DORA Metrics
- Familiarity with Blue / Green and Canary deployments
You’ll thrive in this role if you :
- Communicate with clarity and confidence : You express ideas clearly and professionally, both in writing and speaking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally : You enjoy working with diverse teams across departments to achieve shared goals.
- Perform well under pressure : You stay composed, think clearly, and make effective decisions in high-stakes situations.
- Are coachable and growth-oriented : You're open to feedback, quick to adapt, and eager to continuously improve.
- Welcome and apply constructive feedback : You actively seek input and turn it into actionable improvements.
- Bring a collaborative mindset and proactive approach : You value teamwork and take initiative to solve problems.
- Know how to manage incidents effectively : You can identify, respond to, and resolve incidents with professionalism and efficiency.
