Founded in California’s Silicon Valley in 2015, Biome Makers leads in soil health with our BeCrop technology. We incorporate soil microbiology into agricultural decision-making to optimize farming practices and combat soil degradation. As a vital member of the engineering team, you will support infrastructure development for engineering, data science, and bioinformatics teams. You will collaborate across departments in a testing environment to shape our products. We foster an environment that minimizes meetings and status reports, focusing on problem-solving. We seek a top-tier engineer with a pragmatic, drama-free approach to complex challenges, guiding technology decisions that balance innovation, maintainability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Location: Spain (remote)

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage AWS infrastructure
  2. Collaborate with teams to create repositories, Jenkins scripts, etc.
  3. Evaluate and improve existing infrastructure, processes, or costs
  4. Monitor servers and manage onboarding/offboarding processes
  5. Maintain hardware and software inventory
  6. Implement security initiatives and monitor overall security (information, servers, users)
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS)
  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing containerized applications
  • Strong skills in Python and GraphQL; experience with PostgreSQL
  • Experience with automated cloud deployment tools like Ansible and Jenkins (CI/CD)
  • Ability to design scalable, reliable systems with a focus on performance
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices, including TDD and continuous integration
  • Understanding of secure DevOps practices and high-availability infrastructure
  • Proactive, fast learner with excellent communication skills
