The Biosignal Analysis Research Group for Rehabilitation and Therapy (BIOART) is an officially recognized research group in the Biomedical Signals and Systems Division, which belongs to the Department of Automatic Control (ESAII) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). The group also belongs to the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (IRIS), which promotes excellence in research, innovation and fosters talent training.
The group applies engineering techniques to the medical field to improve rehabilitation processes and clinical therapies. These are evaluated and monitored through multichannel biosignal processing. The algorithms are designed efficiently so that the same techniques can be adapted and applied to respiratory, neuromuscular and neurological studies.
