Springer Nature is seeking a Development Editor in Madrid with a strong ELT background and excellent English skills. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with publishing, design, and delivery teams to ensure high-quality content on schedule and within budget.

You will work with editors to prepare author briefs, identify contributors, handle contracts, and support rights clearance, blending editorial judgement with market needs across formats.

Formación

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Formal ELT / TEFL qualification.
• Demonstrable ELT / EFL teaching experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-working and organisational skills.
• Experience with new media and digital projects.

Responsabilidades

• Work with the Commissioning Editor and/or Senior Development Editor to prepare author briefs.
• Support identification of potential authors and contributors with editorial judgement.
• Understand budgeting and contract terms for external contributors and create contracts.
• Provide feedback with editors to ensure materials meet the brief and market needs.
• Attend audio recordings and shoots to ensure output matches project specs.
• Create specification briefs for artwork, design, and digital assets.
• Assist copy-editing and manage content across formats.
• Understand rights clearance and liaise with relevant teams.
