A leading company in marine energy services is seeking an IT Support professional to provide first and second line support across its operations. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of desktop support experience, excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, and the capacity to manage incidents effectively. This role may require off-site travel and flexible working hours, reflecting the dynamic nature of maritime operations along the Gibraltar area.

Formación

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Based in the Gibraltar office, the key responsibilities will be to provide first and second line desktop & remote IT support to all levels of users within the group.

This role would also suit someone with experience of building and deploying workstations and have around 2-4 years’ experience in IT desktop support.

Ideally the candidate would be able to speak Spanish and hold a driving license and own their transport.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the providing first and second line desktop & remote IT support to all levels of users within the group.
  • Take ownership of complex Incident and Problem cases and document resolution in helpdesk software.
  • Log all helpdesk calls
  • Plan and carry out changes in response to Projects, Work orders, and Service requests.
  • First & Second line support for Telephony systems and associated infrastructure
  • Build servers and workstations as required, the testing of patch and version releases along with
  • Comply with IT policies and procedural controls.
  • To liaise with external companies and suppliers in order to resolve issues or implement changes as directed by the IT Manager.
  • The role will require off-site travel on occasion, evening and weekend work in response to system needs. It will also involve support of Maritime operations onboard vessels in the Gibraltar area.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities; effective time management and organisational skills, able to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
  • Able to work co-operatively and productively with others; actively contribute to successful team performance

Experience in the following technical areas is desirable :

  • Familiarity with Azure

  • Good understanding of Cyber security practices
