Overview

Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG) is a leading multinational lifestyle hospitality group, with a portfolio spanning Hotels & Resorts, Restaurants, Beach Clubs, Nightclubs, Fitness Centers, and more. SHG operates over 81 venues in 26 countries, delivering authentic and diverse hospitality experiences. We are seeking a Design Manager based at our Barcelona Head Office to oversee the design and execution of hospitality and F&B projects across Europe, North Africa, and Turkey, within specified timelines and adhering to approved design standards to deliver exceptional quality. This role will lead design initiatives that enhance the guest experience and align with our brand’s vision across F&B and hospitality venues.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design and development of F&B and hospitality spaces, ensuring alignment with brand identity and guest expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and product development, to create integrated design solutions.
• Manage design projects from initial concept through execution, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline compliance.
• Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to inform and inspire innovative design strategies.
• Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively throughout the design process.
• Ensure all designs adhere to health, safety, and regulatory standards relevant to F&B and hospitality environments.
• Coordinate between different disciplines including interior design consultants, MEP consultants, structural consultants, etc.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design management, specifically within the F&B and hospitality sectors, preferably on the client side.
• Strong portfolio showcasing successful F&B and hospitality design projects, demonstrating creativity and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and familiarity with 3D rendering tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Deep understanding of current trends in F&B and hospitality, including customer preferences and operational considerations.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines and budgets effectively.
• Experience with sustainable design practices in the F&B and hospitality sectors.
• Knowledge of branding, marketing, and customer experience strategies specific to hospitality.
• Familiarity with construction processes, vendor management, and working with contractors.
• Availability to travel frequently.
