Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager (M&E) to lead the mechanical and electrical design of cutting-edge data center projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all M&E systems—from power distribution and backup power to cooling and fire protection—are designed to the highest industry standards. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions that support the company’s growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• M&E Design Leadership – Oversee the complete mechanical and electrical design process for data center projects, including power distribution, backup power (UPS & generators), HVAC, cooling, and fire protection systems.
• Project Coordination – Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of M&E designs into overall project plans.
• Technical Expertise – Provide subject matter expertise on M&E systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Design Reviews & Quality Assurance – Conduct and manage design reviews, ensuring feasibility, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives while implementing rigorous quality control measures.
• Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all designs meet local and international codes and standards (NEC, IEC, ASHRAE, and relevant regulations).
• Problem-Solving & Risk Mitigation – Identify and resolve technical challenges, proactively addressing potential risks in M&E system design and implementation.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination – Work with vendors to specify and select M&E equipment that aligns with project needs.
• Documentation & Reporting – Maintain detailed design documentation, technical specifications, and project reports.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in M&E design, with a focus on data centers or other critical infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems, including power distribution, backup power, cooling, and fire protection.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Deep understanding of industry standards such as NEC, IEC, ASHRAE, and relevant local regulations.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate complex M&E projects with strong organizational and leadership skills.
