Job Description

Universidad Miguel Hernandez is seeking a First Stage Researcher (R1) in Biological Sciences for a full-time, indefinite contract based in Spain. The position involves advanced microscopy and histological techniques related to neuroscience research.

Responsibilities
  • Electroporation and injections of tracers and viral vectors in the developing cerebellum.
  • Perfusion, extraction, and dissection procedures with mouse brains.
  • Histological techniques, including in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry in slices and whole brains (IDISCO+).
  • Confocal microscopy and 3D light-sheet microscopy.
  • Use of image processing software (Imaris, Fiji) and statistical analysis for data interpretation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in biology, biomedicine, biotechnology, or related fields.

  • Participation in other research projects (score 8).
  • Publications in neuroscience and anatomy (score 10).
  • Experience with techniques such as electroporation, histology, microscopy, and image analysis (score 40).
  • Additional merits include participation in scientific congresses and dissemination activities.
Additional Information

This contract is indefinite in nature and full-time (40 hours/week).
