Job summary

Christy Media Solutions is partnering with a technology client in Madrid to expand its data engineering function. The DataOps Engineer will design, build and operate data pipelines and cloud infrastructure to support a Personalization platform.

The role offers growth towards Senior DataOps within the first year. The candidate will work across data engineering, backend systems and AWS infrastructure in a small, growing team with Madrid-based hybrid work (three days in the office).

We're working with a client in the technology sector who is expanding their data engineering function in Madrid.

Our client is looking for a skilled DataOps Engineer to help develop and operate the data pipelines, backend services and cloud infrastructure supporting its Personalization platform.

The Role

Working across data engineering, backend development and cloud infrastructure, you'll be responsible for:

• Designing, building and maintaining reliable data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Developing and maintaining Python-based backend services and integrations.
• Working with large, diverse datasets to support analytics, recommendations and personalization.
• Developing and operating cloud-based systems within AWS.
• Improving data orchestration, monitoring, reliability and performance.
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer who can contribute from an early stage.

Essential skills and experience:

• Strong Python development and coding skills.
• Excellent SQL skills.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Strong foundations in backend and data engineering.
• Experience with data orchestration, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and contribute within a small engineering team.
• Experience within TV, VOD, streaming or media technology environments.

Desirable experience:

• AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Athena, Glue, API Gateway and SQS.
• Infrastructure as Code technologies, including Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Observability technologies such as OpenTelemetry.
• Data Science, Machine Learning or recommendation systems.
• Analytics and BI platforms.
