Job summary

Titan Operating System in Barcelona is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build and run the platform that turns device telemetry, ad impressions, and partner data into trusted data products for Advertising, Content, Partner, Sales and Finance teams.

The stack includes AWS, Snowflake, Iceberg, Airflow (MWAA) for orchestration, and SQLMesh for data modelling. You will own privacy workflows and contribute to SDK/CLI development, collaborating with senior engineers to grow your scope.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building production data pipelines.
• Strong Python skills with clean, tested code.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Apache Airflow (MWAA is a plus).
• Experience with SQL transformation frameworks such as SQLMesh or dbt.
• Familiarity with lakehouse technologies: Apache Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, AWS Glue/EMR.
• Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Kinesis, IAM, Secrets Manager).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Commitment to data quality: testing, observability, and reliability.
• Strong communicator and fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Ingest data pipelines into our S3/Iceberg lakehouse and Snowflake.
• Contribute to the internal data platform SDK and CLI (Python).
• Build and maintain SQLMesh data models across data products.
• Maintain data reliability with contracts, audits, freshness SLAs, and lineage (OpenLineage).
• Overlap privacy workflows including GDPR deletion pipelines and PII handling with auditing and access controls.
• Manage data platform infrastructure as code across AWS services (MWAA, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, S3, Lake Formation, IAM).
• Help optimise performance and cost across Snowflake warehouses, Spark/Glue jobs, and storage.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Backend, Ad-Tech and business stakeholders to translate data needs into solutions.

Role overview:

Every day, millions of Smart TVs running Titan OS generate a large volume of data: viewing sessions, launcher interactions, ad impressions, device telemetry and consent signals. Our data partners, such as TV manufacturers and content providers, add even more. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will help build and run the platform that turns all of this into trusted, well-governed data products for our Advertising, Content, Partner, Sales and Finance teams.

Our platform is built on AWS and Snowflake, with an Iceberg lakehouse on S3, Airflow (MWAA) for orchestration, and SQLMesh for data modelling. It is organised around data products with explicit contracts, freshness SLAs and lineage. We also maintain our own Python SDK and CLI that every data product is built on. You will work alongside senior engineers, take ownership of parts of the platform, and grow your scope as you go.

Key responsibilities:

• Build, operate, and improve batch and streaming ingestion pipelines that bring TV event data, partner feeds (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, ad-server and other APIs) and logs into our S3/Iceberg lakehouse and Snowflake
• Contribute to our internal data platform SDK and CLI (Python): the shared framework, templates, local development environment and CI/CD that every data product team builds on
• Build and maintain SQLMesh data models across our data products, from core and production datasets to analytics and reporting layers
• Keep data reliable: data contracts, audits, freshness SLAs, lineage (OpenLineage) and metadata/cataloguing (OpenMetadata), plus monitoring and incident response when pipelines break
• Own privacy-critical workflows, including GDPR deletion pipelines, consent data and PII handling, with full auditability and fine-grained access control through AWS Lake Formation
• Manage data platform infrastructure as code (Terraform/Terragrunt) across AWS services such as MWAA, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, S3, Lake Formation and IAM
• Help optimise performance and cost across Snowflake warehouses, Spark/Glue jobs and storage
• Work with Infrastructure, Backend, Ad-Tech and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and turn them into well-designed solutions

What makes you a great fit:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, working on production data pipelines
• Good Python skills, comfortable writing clean, tested and reusable code
• Strong SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake (or a similar cloud warehouse)
• Experience with Apache Airflow (MWAA a plus) for workflow orchestration
• Experience with SQL transformation frameworks such as SQLMesh or dbt, and a good understanding of data modelling
• Familiarity with lakehouse technologies: Apache Iceberg, Parquet, Spark, AWS Glue / EMR
• Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Kinesis, IAM, Secrets Manager)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD with GitHub Actions
• You care about data quality: testing, observability, and getting things right
• Strong communicator and fluent in English

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS Lake Formation or other data access governance tools
• Experience in AdTech, CTV/OTT or streaming media (ad-server data, FAST channels, device telemetry)
• Exposure to GDPR, consent management (e.g. OneTrust) and PII deletion workflows
• Experience with OpenLineage/Marquez, OpenMetadata, or data contracts and schema governance
• Experience ingesting from BigQuery or PostgreSQL sources
• Terragrunt or Go experience
• Interest in AI-assisted data engineering (LLM tooling, MCP integrations with the warehouse)
