Duties

1. Regular database maintenance to ensure optimal database configuration, health of indexes, query execution plans, capacity, and low impact of jobs.
2. Continuously monitor databases, analyze for anomalies/trends, detect inefficient queries, and provide feedback to teams.
3. Perform database lifecycle tasks such as commissioning, decommissioning, archiving, patching, and upgrading databases.
4. Conduct deep analysis of databases after load tests and create performance reports; fix issues in collaboration with teams if needed.
5. Consult teams on database design, optimization, and organization; review scripts post-release; enable DevOps models.
6. Incident management: resolve incidents, identify root causes, and provide measurements to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

Core Skills:

• Database Technologies: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB
• Performance Tuning: Query optimization, indexing
• Security: Encryption, user role management, access control
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitoring tools, error logs, diagnostic tools
• High Availability & Replication: Master-slave, clustering
• Scripting & Automation
• Cloud Databases (preferable): AWS RDS

Tools & Technologies:

• DBMS: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Tools: SQL Developer, pgAdmin, Toad for Oracle, DataGrip
• Monitoring: CloudControl, NewRelic, AWS CloudWatch
• Cloud Platforms: AWS (RDS)
