For a prestigious Swiss client, we are currently seeking a Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join the Innovation & Technology Team. This role is suitable for individuals who identify as data scientists, data engineers, or both.

Job specific requirements:

1. An excellent university degree (PhD is a plus) in natural science, mathematics, computer science, finance, engineering, or similar.
2. At least 3+ years of professional experience in a Data Science / Data Engineering role.
3. A deep understanding of data structures, AI vector databases like Databricks, and their underlying concepts.
4. Experience with Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, and RAG implementations is a plus.
5. Good knowledge of statistics and mathematics.
6. Experience in model deployment and solutions using cloud services (preferably Azure DevOps or AzureML).
7. The ability to understand customer needs and solve real-world problems.
8. A background in algorithm development (SQL, Python, Git, DevOps) and familiarity with agile methods is essential.
9. An active interest in current AI developments and best practices.
10. Fluent English at a C1 level is required.

Personal attributes and logistics:

1. We seek someone located in or near Barcelona.
2. The person should be willing to visit the office once a week.
3. Some travel will be required to meet the team once or twice a year.
4. The candidate should be very interested in new technology and willing to learn.
5. Experience with vector databases is essential, as this will be the primary focus during the first year.
