Una entidad financiera global ubicada en Madrid busca un Data Scientist con experiencia en liderazgo de proyectos de transformación de datos. El candidato ideal tendrá más de 4 años en modelado de riesgos y habilidades en MLOps, Python y técnicas avanzadas de Machine Learning. Esta posición ofrece la oportunidad de trabajar con herramientas de inteligencia artificial generativa y un plan de formación integral en colaboración con universidades. Se requiere un nivel mínimo de inglés y español (B2).

Formación

• 4+ años de experiencia en un rol de Data Scientist o similar.
• Conocimientos extensivos en técnicas de Machine Learning y Optimización.
• Experiencia con tecnologías de Generative AI será altamente valorada.

Responsabilidades

• Definir y desarrollar nuevos módulos analíticos en la plataforma de modelado.
• Aplicar principios de MLOps para automatizar el ciclo de vida del modelo.
• Investigar e innovar integrando tecnologías de inteligencia artificial generativa.

Overview

GRM Data & Analytics is the Discipline, within the Global Risk Management function, responsible for the development of methodologies and models for risk measurement in the BBVA group. The analysis and use of new data sources and the implementation of the most advanced modelling techniques for risk purposes is the core activity of our team.

About the job

Based in Madrid, the successful candidate will join the Transformation CoE (Centre of Expertise) within the GRM Data & Analytics area, a spearhead of innovation within BBVA’s global holding, and will assume the leadership of data transformation projects in the development of Risk Modelling Innovation Lab, covering risk models, calibrations and capital / provisions calculations among other tasks. This role will be central to BBVA’s strategic transformation of risk analytics, combining advanced modelling with automation, MLOps and GenAI to build scalable, modern solutions with direct impact across all geographies. It is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual who is keen to join a very ambitious and transformational project in a high performance team. You will have access to state of the art tools, including GenAI solutions from OpenAI, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, together with the full capacity of cloud infrastructure, enabling you to deliver next generation risk management solutions. As part of the transversal Advanced Analytics area, we provide a comprehensive training plan in machine learning and generative AI, developed in collaboration with the University of Navarra, Universidad Carlos III and BBVA’s internal programs. This is complemented by specialized training in finance, banking and regulatory knowledge.

• Define and develop new analytical modules in the modelling platform focused on the transformation towards new data, state of the art methodologies and the use of the most advanced algorithms to optimise decisions, tempos and performance in the Bank’s new analytical infrastructure.
• Apply MLOps principles to automate and streamline the model lifecycle, including orchestration, versioning, deployment, and monitoring.
• Take responsibility to ensure code quality, performance, usability and results are properly managed and maintained to support business objectives.
• Research and Innovate integrating generative AI technologies to continue to be the spearhead in the sector and drive the modernization of risk management.
• Structure and synthesise results to provide intuitive metrics and reportings to boost and optimise the decision process.
• Manage dependencies and risks to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
• Work, under agile methodology, with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams from Risk, Data, Engineering and Local Units.

Qualifications

• With 4+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role or similar, with MSc and / or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software / tools: + Experience with big data and analytic tools: Spark and Python is a must. + Experience with software development: QA, git, unit testing, copilots + Experience with HTML, JS and other web development tools will be valued.
• Extensive knowledge in Statistical, Machine Learning, GenAI and Optimisation techniques.
• Knowledge in cloud services (like AWS Sagemaker) and MLOps principles and automation of the model lifecycle, including orchestration, deployment, and monitoring in production environments.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies (multi-agent, RAG) and their application in improving analytical processes will be highly valuable.
• With a successful history of defining, developing and managing a software library with value endorsed by stakeholders.
• Knowledge of credit models (previous experience in model developing or model validation) is a plus.
• Minimum level of English (B2).
• Minimum level of Spanish (B2).
