Data Ingestion Engineer (Fivetran & Kafka)

Marionete is an independently minded, entrepreneurial technology consultancy helping clients exploit tomorrow’s technology to find unexpected solutions to today’s business problems.

This engineer will be a key member of our data platform team, responsible for both expanding and maintaining the critical ingestion layer of our modern data stack. The successful candidate will set up new data pipelines using Fivetran and Kafka as new business needs arise, while also ensuring the day-to-day reliability and optimisation of all existing data flows into our Snowflake data warehouse and data lake.

• Configure and deploy new ingestion pipelines for a variety of data sources using the company's established Fivetran and Kafka frameworks.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the full suite of existing data pipelines to ensure high reliability and data quality.
• Ensure the timely and reliable flow of data into Snowflake and our data lake , validating data integrity for both new and existing pipelines.
• Utilise and contribute to CI / CD processes for the automated deployment and management of ingestion configurations.
• Collaborate with data architects and analysts to onboard new data sources efficiently within our established patterns.
• Experience : 5+ years in Data Engineering with a focus on data integration and pipeline management.
• Ingestion Expertise : Hands-on experience both setting up new pipelines and managing existing ones using tools like Fivetran and Apache Kafka .
• Data Warehousing : Solid experience loading data into Snowflake and a strong understanding of its data ingestion patterns and best practices.
• Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and a scripting language (e.g., Python ) for automation and troubleshooting tasks.
• DevOps Mindset : Practical experience with CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Github , etc.) for deploying data pipelines.
• Experience with the Java ecosystem (particularly Spring Boot) is a plus, as it is useful for supporting custom Kafka components.
• Influence & Communication : Fluent in English with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
• Location : Must be based in the Spain, or Portugal with availability for occasional travel
