About the job : SENIOR DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST SENIOR DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst who will play an integral role in the execution of the bank's enterprise data governance framework and support the Senior Manager Analytics and Governance, who has primary responsibility for enterprise-wide data governance activities.

The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and maintaining a robust data governance environment, primarily through data risk assessments and ensuring the timely assignment and remediation of data incidents. The Senior Data Governance Analyst acts as the liaison between the data governance team and business unit data stewards, ensuring that data management policies and procedures are communicated and embedded within the lines of business. As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will actively participate throughout the entire engagement cycle, focusing on data governance, data quality, and data classification.

Responsibilities :

  • Administers the Enterprise Data Governance program by creating processes to support data management practices, ensuring compliance with the bank's data governance and management policies.
  • Reviews data management practices in collaboration with the Senior Manager to ensure awareness and compliance within the Governance framework. Recommends updates to processes, policies, or business activities as needed.
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of data management processes in technology and business lines to identify gaps and reduce data risks.
  • Conducts in-depth monitoring of adherence to data management processes to ensure regulatory and standard compliance.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with unit leaders, data owners, stewards, and custodians to ensure clarity and consistency in data management and governance practices.
  • Assists in assessing data risks from projects, products, and initiatives impacting the lines of business to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Supports data owners and stewards in resolving data incidents and developing action plans for remediation.
  • Monitors and tracks data incidents through meetings to ensure timely execution of remedial actions, minimizing exposure.

Requirements :

  • 7-10 years of banking experience with a proven background in governance and control functions, including KCARs, SOX, and quarterly assertion processes.
  • Understanding of the banking data environment.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to enterprise information assets, and data management approaches.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, including change management, communication, culture change, and performance measurement.
  • Experience in risk management, control testing, remediation, and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of process improvement, risk, control, and deficiency management to lead business units.
  • Good understanding of banking process flows to develop controls and identify risks.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related quantitative fields.
