The Role

Veeva OpenData Commercial provides reference data across the healthcare ecosystem to support sales, compliance, and analytics. We innovate continuously, leveraging cloud solutions and advanced technologies to deliver excellence and success. The Data Platform Engineering team develops tools and data pipelines to build the global data core for life sciences in over 100 countries.

As a data engineer on our global Data Platform Engineering team at OpenData, you will drive meaningful change by harmonizing data operations and improving data quality worldwide. Your responsibilities include creating tools and processes for efficient data management, directly impacting OpenData's success.

Applicants must be based in Spain and possess legal work authorization, as Veeva does not sponsor visas for this role.

What You'll Do
  1. Build data tools to optimize global data operations
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data solutions
  3. Contribute to the OpenData Data Engineering community to influence tooling and standards for better data quality and productivity
  4. Develop a data validation framework to automate quality control
Requirements
  1. Over 3 years of hands-on Python development experience in production environments
  2. Proficiency in data cloud computing technologies (EMR, Databricks) on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  3. Experience designing and implementing data pipelines using distributed storage
  4. Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to software design
  5. A strong desire to learn and acquire new skills
  6. Proactive problem-solving abilities
Nice to Have
  1. Knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and repository management
  2. Experience building test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  3. Experience with Polars
