About this role:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and help integrate the different brands in Global Savings Group. The Data Domain is part of our Product and Technology team and is autonomous and co-functional, consisting of 30 people on 4 different teams operating in an agile and customer-centered environment, mainly working with but not exclusive to AWS Big Data solutions. We need a new Data Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain data solutions to manage and convert multiple data sources into actionable intelligence that our stakeholders can use to continually improve our service for our users. The new Data Engineer will continue our efforts to collect millions of events from the frontend and backend of dozens of websites our company operates, fetch financial data from hundreds of partners to consolidate them into revenue metrics and targets for our commercial teams and work with marketing data from internal and external sources to create efficient marketing funnels.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop the source of truth and performant data models in a data-driven company with billions of events and millions of transactions transforming large, complex, and disparate datasets into the basis for explorable, understandable, and accurate data products.
  2. Manage ETL/ELT Processes, Data Flows, and Data Engineering Solutions using AWS services such as S3, EMR, EC2, Glue, Kinesis, Athena, Lambda functions, etc.
  3. Write scalable, efficient, and thoroughly tested code to ensure Quality, Reliability, and Accuracy of Data Products.
Your Profile:
  1. You are familiar with ETL/ELT development, data flows, and processing data at scale - you know how to process multiple TB of ingested data per day.
  2. You have familiarity implementing services and solutions in the realm of Big Data, Analytics, or Data Engineering, with proficiency in Cloud Platforms.
  3. You bring strong experience with Python, Scala and/or Java.
  4. Experience with Spark, Flink, MapReduce/Hadoop, or similar products.
  5. You are knowledgeable about relational and non-relational databases and advanced query authoring (SQL and NoSQL).
  6. You know how to work with an agile mindset and have enthusiasm and passion to design/develop data-driven products.
  7. You have attention to detail and an understanding of data visualization best practices with BI tools such as Apache Superset, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.
  8. You have fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
