JOIN THE TEAM

We are currently seeking a talented Snr Data Engineer to join our highly dynamic and collaborative team at BASF's Agricultural Solutions department Digital Factory. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective utilization of data for analysis, reporting, and decision-making by creating and maintaining a robust data infrastructure for BASF Agriculture's enterprise-level IT solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, create, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data storage systems such as data warehouses or data lakes.
  2. Integrate data from different databases, applications, and external sources, ensuring the consistency and accuracy of the data.
  3. Create and maintain data models, schemas, and structures that facilitate efficient data storage and retrieval.
  4. Transform and clean raw data to prepare it for analysis, including managing missing values, normalizing data, and aggregating.
  5. Apply data quality controls, validation processes, and error handling to maintain a high level of data quality.
  6. Manage and optimize databases, including performance tuning, indexing, and ensuring data security.
  7. Automate ETL processes and routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  8. Continuously monitor data pipelines and infrastructure to detect performance issues, errors, and data anomalies. Troubleshoot problems promptly.
  9. Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering tools and technologies and assess their suitability for organizational needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Graduates or advanced students in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telematics Engineering, Information Technology Analysis (or related fields).
  • Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in IT Consulting or related fields.
  • Languages: Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Java, Scala, Python, SQL; designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines; intermediate knowledge of data warehouse and data lake architecture.
  • Soft Skills: Strong project management, effective communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
  • Technological Tools: Advanced skills in Power BI, Databricks, Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, Power Platforms, Tableau, among others.
