Job summary

BASE life science is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Insights & Analytics team. You will design, build, automate, and maintain robust data pipelines to enable analytics and BI across pharmaceutical projects.

You will work with cross-functional teams, ensure data quality, and implement end‑to‑end testing and governance. This role emphasizes consulting mindset, collaboration, and delivering reliable data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Data Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on data engineer experience in pharma domain preferred.
• 2+ years with Azure Databricks, AWS or GCP; relevant certs a plus.
• 2+ years Python or similar scripting languages.
• Proficient SQL and cloud data platforms; Azure data services incl. ADF, ADLS, Delta Lake.
• Experience ETL/ELT, data modeling, data quality, and data lineage.

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and automate data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources with business logic and transformations.
• Develop and maintain data processing solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python, PySpark.
• Apply data quality practices to minimize anomalies and ensure high-quality data for downstream systems.
• Incorporate error handling, monitoring, auditing for end-to-end data traceability and lineage.
• Design and execute end‑to‑end tests to ensure pipelines function correctly across data scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data privacy, business analysts, and QA.
