BASE life science in Spain is seeking a proactive Data Consultant to join our team. You will work at the intersection of technology, business, and the life sciences domains, focusing on data migration projects and compliant execution.

You will use Python, SQL, Excel, and tools like Jira/Confluence, VS Code, and Azure DevOps to analyze data, document approaches, and support project delivery through collaboration with clients and colleagues.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and versatile Data Consultant to join our team in Spain.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of technology, business, and the life sciences domains, with a strong focus on data migration projects. You will help translate customer requirements into structured technical logic and support the execution of migration and data-related activities in a controlled and compliant way.

You will work with tools and platforms such as Python (Pandas, Prefect, Requests, ...) SQL, Excel, Ubuntu/Linux, VS Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub, PuTTY/WinSCP, Jira, and Confluence to analyse data, define transformation logic, document approaches, and support project delivery. At the same time, success in the role depends on your ability to collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, communicate clearly, and challenge constructively when needed.

As a Data Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

• Translating business and customer requirements into clear technical logic and structured migration or data-handling activities
• Supporting the design and execution of data migration and data processing tasks in a controlled, traceable, and compliant manner
• Working with data, logic, and processes to ensure tasks are performed accurately and in a controlled manner
• Collaborating with clients and internal teams to understand needs, challenge assumptions, and propose the right approach
• Presenting technical solutions and explaining complex topics in a clear and accessible way
• Contributing to data quality, documentation, and governance best practices

To succeed in the role, you likely bring:

• A Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or another quantitative field
• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with version control, code sharing, and team-based development practices
• Advanced experience skills in Microsoft Office, including very good Excel skills and solid presentation skills in PowerPoint
• A structured and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn requirements into clear logic and practical solutions
• Confidence in working directly with customers, including asking questions, challenging constructively, and presenting solutions
• Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and motivation to grow your experience
• High attention to detail and a quality-focused way of working
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when needed

Additionally, it is an advantage if you have experience with:

• PuTTY/WinSCP
• Jira/Confluence
• Working in regulated environments, including GxP
• Life sciences domains such as clinical, quality, regulatory, laboratory, safety, and commercial
• Data migration, data handling, or controlled process execution
• Consulting, client-facing work, or other roles where business and technology come together
