IAG.ai is a growing team within the International Airlines Group (British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus, IAG Loyalty, IAG Cargo, IAG Tech), focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to accelerate value and market position across multiple operating companies.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer

The role involves leading the development of automated tooling and software solutions within our Software Engineering & Delivery team. You will be a hands-on engineer, setting technical standards, best practices, and contributing to our engineering metrics platform that enhances operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across IAG.

The Team

The Engineering team comprises three squads: Engineering Acceleration (the largest), Central Tooling Services, and AI Engineering Platform. Your focus will be on the Engineering Acceleration team, which aims to empower IAG’s software engineering and AI teams with high-quality, efficient delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop tooling for data collection and insights from tools like GitHub, Snyk, SonarCloud, JIRA, Confluence.
2. Evaluate off-the-shelf solutions for AI team requirements.
3. Implement solutions following standard engineering practices and document them thoroughly.
4. Promote cross-team collaboration and best practices across IAG.ai and operating companies.
5. Enhance CI/CD pipelines with security and automation features.
6. Support testing, deployment, and operational monitoring of solutions.
7. Manage multiple projects, aligning with business and IT changes.

Skills and Experience

• Experience with SaaS infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
• Proficiency in AWS (mandatory), with Azure preferred.
• Knowledge of databases, scripting (Python, Typescript), deployment tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with security tools (Snyk, SonarCloud) and PowerBI is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven cloud solution design and deployment experience, preferably in an agile/DevSecOps environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
