Amaris Consulting seeks an experienced Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions across multiple domains. You will model data, build pipelines with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse, and develop Power BI dashboards to deliver insights.

You will mentor a small team, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure data quality and security. Fluent English is required, and remote work from Italy, Spain or Portugal is available.

Competenze

• 7+ years in data engineering with focus on data modelling.
• 4+ years using Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse.
• Experience in Power BI report development (Paginated/SSRS).

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Your missions

• Analyze and understand business processes and data models to identify and address data requirements
• Liaise with business contacts or analysts to translate needs into technical specifications
• Ingest and model data using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse platforms
• Develop and optimize database schemas, relationships, and performance for data solutions
• Design and implement dashboards and reports in Power BI to deliver actionable insights
• Implement data quality checks and ensure compliance with data security standards
• Oversee the operation and mentoring of a small team of developers, managing priorities and workload
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions supporting various business domains

Your profile

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering with a focus on data modelling and 4+ years in data engineering (Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse) and report development (Power BI). Proven track record as a Data Engineer or similar role, and in Power BI development, including Paginated or SSRS reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Data Stack, including Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics
• Experience in Data Lake and Data Lakehouse implementation (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, Apache Spark/Hadoop)
• Experience in Data Vault and dimensional data modeling techniques
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Academic background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• English fluent. Other languages are a plus.
• You demonstrate strong strategic and conceptual thinking, with the ability to drive results and foster a culture of accountability
• You demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Gross Annual Salary (GAS): EUR 29,000- EUR 50,000 ; basic salary only, the variable component will be detailed in the offer (Our salary ranges are intentionally wide, because we hire talented minds, not "templates". The same role can attract very different candidates, and we believe in leaving room for that. What lands within the range depends on your specific experience, skills and what you bring to the role).
