About the role

A global SME-sized Asset Management firm seeks a skilled Data Engineer to support and modernise data platforms and analytics capabilities. The role will span three critical focus areas : ETL monitoring and enhancement, business intelligence / reporting, and the automation of key data activities using modern Azure based tools.

Responsibilities

• Support, manage, and develop ETL pipelines to ingest data into a datalake / warehouse.
• Perform issue diagnosis and resolution for data-related anomalies (including loganalysis and error tracing).
• Deliver and migrate BI / MI reports using Power BI and in-house data sources.
• Collaborate with business users to determine reporting needs and design ad-hoc extracts.
• Automate and modernise data management and ETL / reporting processes.
• Transition manual workflows to automated, robust pipelines.

About You

• Strong experience in Financial Services, ideally within Asset Management orPrivate Equity.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud, including Data Factory, LogicApps, and Azure Functions.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL pipeline development andmaintenance.
• Proficiency with Power BI, including advanced DAX.
• Programming skills in Python or R for analytics and automation.
• Familiarity with C# for debugging and extending existing processes.
• Experience with Git and deployment via Azure DevOps or similar pipelines.
• Understanding of the full SDLC and automation testing best practices.
• Excellent quantitative and problem-solving abilities.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and automation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive and collaborative approach in fast-paced financial environments.
