Clarivate Plc in Barcelona is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Life Sciences team and help design and deliver Pathfinder, a modern, scalable greenfield application built with Java, Spring Boot, and NodeJS. You will lead a cross-functional team in an agile environment, setting technical direction and engineering best practices.

Pathfinder focuses on data-driven insights for healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience with Java (Spring Boot) and NodeJS backend development.
• Experience with SQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS in cloud-based microservices.
• 5 years of experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Good knowledge of Git and source-control practices.

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Life Sciences team in Barcelona. You will play a key role in Pathfinder, a strategic new initiative focused on designing and delivering a modern, scalable, and maintainable application that will have a meaningful impact on the life sciences industry.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will work closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Engineering to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an agile environment, driving architectural decisions, establishing engineering best practices, and leading the development of a greenfield product from the ground up.

Given the strategic importance of Pathfinder, you will provide strong technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, helping accelerate delivery, mitigate technical risks, and ensure alignment with the long-term platform strategy. About You – Experience, Education, Skills, And Accomplishments

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 5 years of industry experience in Java (Spring Boot) and NodeJS, as well as developing backend RESTful services within a microservices architecture.
• Experience with SQL, Elastic search y AWS
• 5 years of experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Version Control tools (preferably Git)

It would be great if you also had . .

• Experience of working within an Agile delivery environment.
• Experience running services in docker.
• Experience using Jenkins.

About The Team

You will be part of a team of Talented Software and QA engineers, working in close collaboration with a Solution Analyst, UX Designer, and Product Owner. As part of our Agile processes, you’ll play an active role in developing and delivering our newly launched product Pathfinder.

Pathfinder is a strategic new Life Sciences platform focused on delivering innovative, data-driven insights through a modern and scalable technology stack, helping customers make faster and more informed decisions across the healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position at 40 hours a week (35 hours during July and August). The working schedule is flexible, mostly centered on CET time zone with occasional need to accommodate late or early meetings with US or East Asia time zones.

The position is hybrid going to the office in Barcelona 2-3 times per week.
