The Role
As a Data Engineer at GitKraken, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will work with large datasets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our data systems are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting advanced analytics and business initiatives. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in data visualization to transform complex data into actionable insights.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration, analytics, and reporting needs.
• Develop and optimize data warehouse architecture to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Implement best practices for data management, including data quality, governance, and security.

What you’ll bring

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Proven experience in data modeling, including designing scalable databases and data pipelines with well-defined schemas.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and Apache Kafka.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or Go.
• Solid understanding of data quality management and data governance.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience working with Event-Driven Architectures and Rest APIs.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Bonus points

• Experience with any of the following is a plus: Cassandra, MongoDB, Docker, Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience working in the developer tooling space or working with a developer-centric audience.
• An understanding of the SaaS business model and key metrics.

Location
This is a hybrid position based in Alicante, Spain. This role combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of meaningful in-person collaboration. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Alicante area.
