Job summary

The DC Engineer – Expansion at IREN Group will drive technical planning and coordination for capacity expansions across Spain’s data center portfolio. You will review inputs and align power, cooling, civil, structural, network, and security interfaces to protect reliability and performance.

Reporting to the DC Engineering Lead, you will collaborate with MEP, BIM, QA, commissioning and external delivery partners, translating scope into clear engineering actions and managing interfaces across live

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Building Services or similar.
• 3–5 years in data center engineering or capacity expansion.
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure and interfaces (MV/LV, cooling, power, civil/structural).
• Ability to read drawings, specs, calculations, surveys, and submittals.
• Experience with live/operational facilities and shutdown planning.
• MS Office; AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks/BIM tools valued.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English; willingness to travel regularly between IREN sites (Badajoz, Cáceres, Madrid).

Responsibilities

• Support expansion opportunity assessments by reviewing capacity and site conditions.
• Review drawings, calculations, surveys, and contractor submissions.
• Coordinate technical interfaces across disciplines and flag clashes/risks.
• Prepare design comments, RFIs, action logs, and risk registers.
• Assist with site surveys, workshops, and contractor coordination.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover for expansions.
• Maintain engineering records per standards and practices.
• Coordinate with AECOM to align deliverables with policies.
