Descripción del empleo
Overview

Job Summary: Want to solve real business problems with data? Join Swissport’s global transformation team and turn workforce and operations data into insights that leaders act on every day.

Swissport is delivering a global workforce transformation to modernize how we manage our workforce through HR IS, rostering, payroll, learning management and other systems. We are looking for a curious and hands-on Data & Business Analyst to join the Transformation Office and turn complex operational data into actionable insights.

This is a great role if you enjoy working with data, solving problems and seeing your work make a real impact. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders to come up with improvement hypotheses to test, extract data from different sources (HR, rostering, payroll, flight schedules, learning mgmt. systems), clean and transform it using Python or other auditable methods, and load to dashboards. Your analysis will help explain why things happen – like unplanned absences, airline delays or overtime — and more importantly show leaders what actions they can take to improve operations. You will also provide support in project management – creating templates to gather information, delivering analysis and insights from multiple sources of data.

Responsibilities
  • Data engineering and automation: Extract data from Dayforce, rostering, payroll, flight schedules and skills / training records. Transform and merge data using Python or Excel – clean, auditable, and reproducible. Load into Power BI dashboards, Excel run packs or automated reports.
  • Analytics and insights: Generate and / or collaborate with transformation, operations, planning, etc. to come up with hypotheses on improvements (predictive indicators). Deliver analysis to validate hypotheses at scale and pace, relying on large amounts of operational data, often coming from different sources. Analyse drivers of cost, inefficiency, quality (absences, delays, training compliance). Produce clear insights and recommendations for station, regional and global leaders. Shift focus from lagging to leading indicators – building predictive and prescriptive analytics that help the business plan ahead, not just review the past.
  • Reporting and stakeholder support: Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for leaders at global, regional and station level. Contribute to board, SteerCo and weekly reporting packs with high-quality analytics.
  • Continuous improvement: Ensure data processes are simple, scalable, documented, and auditable. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in how data is captured, transformed and reported.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Required years of experience : 3-5 years
  • Experience: Hands-on analyst role in operations-heavy business (aviation, logistics, retail, transport, tech). Proven experience building data pipelines and dashboards. Strong statistical knowledge and experience in designing and delivering hypothesis-driven analysis.
  • Technical skills: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, power query). SQL, Python (pandas, data cleaning, scripts). Power BI – is a plus (data modelling, dashboards). Experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) and awareness in data storage options; relational databases, data warehouses, noSQL, cloud object storage, etc. is a plus.
  • Attributes: Curious, structured, and detail-focused. Business-minded — connects analysis to actions. Comfortable collaborating with Ops, Planning, IT, HR, Training and managing several projects in parallel. Organised and self-sufficient – comfortable planning and tracking your own work – basic project mgmt. or agile skills (breaking tasks down, setting deadlines, keeping progress visible). Ambitious, eager to grow and make an impact early in career.
