Data Architect / Data Governance Specialist - EU Data Spaces, Interoperability, Regulatory / compliance, standards, API's, Integration- Fully Remote

Long term fully remote freelance opportunity for an experienced Data Architect / Data Governance Specialist to join our industry leading client in the EU Government / Public sector domain. The role of the Data Governance / Architect will be to define data requirements aligning with business requirements in the area of Data spaces, ensuring Data governance models meet required regulatory compliance and interoperability standards. Your role will also be to oversee Data API's / integrations ensuring interoperability standards.

This role is working on a Pan-European Transformation programme which is critical to Europe's Digital infrastructure, enhancing shared data / data spaces between EU member states.

Essential Skills & Experience :

• Experience in Data Spaces and their operational requirements
• Profound knowledge of Agile methodologies and data-related requirements elicitation
• A strong background in Data Governance and Data Architecture
• Any previous experience working in the EU Government / Public sector would be highly advantageous

Responsibilities :

Data Management & Traceability : Align data requirements with business processes and ensure traceability across the architecture of Data Spaces.

Data Governance & Quality : Advise on data governance models, ensuring data integrity, security, compliance with regulatory standards (Gaia-X, IDSA), and alignment with European interoperability standards.

Data Architecture Design : Propose and validate scalable, available, and efficient data architecture models for products related to Data Spaces.

Interoperability & Middleware : Provide strategies and technical guidance for integrating Data Spaces with other European data ecosystems, ensuring interoperability.

Data Security & Compliance : Collaborate with experts to identify and mitigate risks in data handling and storage, ensuring compliance with standards like GDPR.

Risk Assessment in Data Infrastructure : Identify risks within the program's data infrastructure and recommend mitigation strategies.

Coordination with Development & Architecture Teams : Ensure solutions comply with program quality and security standards.
